Redroaster, Brighton Dome, Brighton

Sited on the ground floor of the Brighton Dome's recently refurbished Studio Theatre - by Fielden Clegg Bradley Studios - is Redroaster, Studio C102’s second venue for Brighton's oldest speciality coffee roasters.

The design develops and reinforces design cues that have become synonymous with Redroaster and aims to integrate them within the Grade I listed Dome buildings and the base-build refurbishment. The space is structured around key pieces of joinery that combine earth toned geometric tiles, playfully crafted steelwork, recycled plastic panels, and stained ash with mirror polished accents. Their location, scale and orientation guide the customer through the restaurant, creating a restaurant that is relaxed and familiar, yet surprising and memorable.

Overall, the project combines the practicalities required of an all-day café and restaurant with a commitment to design that surpasses the everyday.

Phase 1 was completed in June 2023 with Phase 2 due to complete in October.
